ICML poster templates in the right size

ICML has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; under the 2026 rules, suggested main-conference sizes are 48 × 36 in, 60 × 36 in, or 72 × 36 in (width × height, no hard maximum), and workshop posters must not exceed 24 × 36 in (61 × 91 cm) portrait. Our 72 × 36 in and 48 × 36 in landscape templates match the suggested main-conference sizes at 100% nominal scale, and our A1 portrait template (23.4 × 33.1 in / 59.4 × 84.1 cm) fits inside the workshop limit at 100%. Because PowerPoint caps slide width at 56 in, the 72 × 36 in file is built at half size (36 × 18 in): print it at 200% of the file size.

ICML poster requirements (2026 rules for ICML 2027)

ICML lists its 2027 conference location as South America, with exact 2027 dates, host city, and poster instructions not yet announced. ICML has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; these are the 2026 rules.

In 2026, ICML gives suggested main-conference poster sizes of 48 × 36 in, 60 × 36 in, or 72 × 36 in (width × height; 121.92 × 91.44 cm, 152.4 × 91.44 cm, or 182.88 × 91.44 cm, written in the instructions as 36 in high × 48/60/72 in wide) without stating a hard main-conference maximum.
In 2026, workshop posters must be portrait and must not exceed 24 in wide × 36 in high (officially approximated as 61 cm wide × 91 cm high; written as 36 in H × 24 in W).
In 2026, selecting a Poster Topic is required for accepted papers.
In 2026, posters must be mounted only on the assigned board using the conference-approved and provided tape; self-adhesive posters are prohibited, and workshop posters must use designated workshop display locations rather than venue walls.
In 2026, uploading a virtual poster and thumbnail to the ICML portal is highly recommended (advised at least one week before the conference, and updatable afterward), while a talk video is recommended but optional; the public instructions page does not specify pixel or file-size limits.

ICML poster FAQ

What size is an ICML main-conference poster?

ICML has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; under the 2026 Poster Instructions, ICML suggests three main-conference sizes—48 × 36 in, 60 × 36 in, or 72 × 36 in (width × height, listed as 36 in H × 48/60/72 in W)—without setting a hard maximum. Both our 72 × 36 in and 48 × 36 in landscape templates match those suggested sizes at 100% nominal scale.

What size is an ICML workshop poster?

Under the 2026 ICML rules, workshop posters have a strict maximum size of 24 in wide by 36 in high (61 × 91 cm) in portrait orientation. We recommend our A1 portrait template (23.4 × 33.1 in, or 59.4 × 84.1 cm), which fits inside both the 24 × 36 in and 61 × 91 cm limits at 100% scale.

Why is the 72 × 36 in template built at 36 × 18 in in PowerPoint?

PowerPoint caps slide width at 56 in, so our 72 × 36 in template is built at exactly half size (36 × 18 in). Have your printer scale the file to 200% (100% nominal) to produce a 72 × 36 in poster. Our 48 × 36 in template is under the 56 in cap, so it opens at full size and prints at 100%.

How are posters attached at ICML, and can I use a peel-and-stick poster?

Under the 2026 ICML rules, you must mount your poster only on your assigned board using the tape provided and approved by the conference. Self-adhesive (peel-and-stick) posters are prohibited, and workshop posters must be placed in their designated hall area rather than taped to venue walls.

When and where is ICML 2027, and is a virtual poster required?

ICML's Future Meetings page lists ICML 2027 in South America, with exact dates and city not yet announced as of October 28, 2026. In 2026, uploading a virtual poster and thumbnail was highly recommended (advised at least one week before the conference) and a talk video was optional; check the 2027 presenter instructions once posted.

Are the ICML templates free?

Yes. Our PowerPoint poster templates are free to download and fully editable. The AI poster generator uses credits at 5 credits per standard 2K image; new accounts get 10 sign-up credits (valid for 1 day) plus 5 daily credits (valid for that day).
