ICLR poster templates in the right size

ICLR has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; under the 2026 rules, main-conference posters are up to 1.90 × 0.90 m landscape and workshop posters are up to 61 × 91 cm portrait. Our A0 landscape template (118.9 × 84.1 cm) fits the main conference at 100%, and our A1 portrait template (59.4 × 84.1 cm) fits workshops at 100%. Our 72 × 36 in template (182.9 × 91.4 cm) is taller than 90 cm at full size, so scale it to ≤98.4% nominal (about 180 × 90 cm). Because PowerPoint caps slide width at 56 in, the 72 × 36 in file is built at half size (36 × 18 in): print it at ≤196.8% of the file size.

ICLR poster requirements (2026 rules for ICLR 2027)

ICLR 2027 runs April 26–30, 2027, in California (main conference April 26–28, workshops April 29–30; exact city and venue to be posted). ICLR has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; these are the 2026 rules.

In 2026, main-conference posters are landscape with a maximum size of 1.90 m wide × 0.90 m high (190 × 90 cm), and the 2026 Poster Guide does not set a mandatory border width.
In 2026, workshop posters must be portrait with a maximum size of 61 cm wide × 91 cm high, and may be mounted on designated wall areas according to workshop instructions.
In 2026, main-conference posters may be mounted at most 1 hour before the session using only provided or approved Command strips and painter's tape; self-adhesive posters are not permitted.
In 2026, poster sessions are held in person (there is no live virtual poster session), and uploading a virtual poster and thumbnail to the ICLR portal is highly recommended at least one week before the conference.
The 2026 Author Guide states that in-person registered authors record a 5-minute summary video (listed as highly recommended on the 2026 Poster Guide).
For ICLR 2027, abstract submissions closed September 18, 2026 AoE and full paper submissions closed September 25, 2026 AoE; 2027 poster upload deadlines have not been announced yet.

ICLR poster FAQ

What size is an ICLR main-conference poster?

ICLR has not published its 2027 poster rules yet; under the 2026 Poster Guide, main-conference posters are landscape with a maximum size of 1.90 m wide by 0.90 m high (190 × 90 cm). We recommend our A0 landscape template (118.9 × 84.1 cm) at 100% scale, or our 72 × 36 in wide-aspect template scaled to ≤98.4% nominal (about 180 × 90 cm; ≤196.8% of the half-size file) so its height stays within 90 cm.

What size is an ICLR workshop poster?

Under the 2026 ICLR rules, workshop posters must be portrait with a maximum size of 61 cm wide by 91 cm high. We recommend our A1 portrait template (59.4 × 84.1 cm), which fits inside 61 × 91 cm at 100% scale without trimming. Confirm your specific 2027 workshop page once 2027 rules are posted.

Why is the 72 × 36 in template 36 × 18 in in PowerPoint, and how should I scale it for ICLR?

PowerPoint caps slide width at 56 in, so our 72 × 36 in (2:1) template is built at half size (36 × 18 in). Printing the half-size file at 200% gives 72 × 36 in (182.9 × 91.4 cm), which is 1.4 cm taller than ICLR's 2026 90 cm height limit. To fit within 1.90 × 0.90 m, ask your printer to scale the 36 × 18 in file to at most 196.8% (98.4% of nominal, giving about 180 × 90 cm).

How are posters mounted at ICLR?

Under the 2026 ICLR Poster Guide, main-conference presenters may put up their posters at most 1 hour before the session begins and must use only the provided or approved Command strips and painter's tape; self-adhesive posters are not allowed. In 2026, workshop posters could be taped to designated wall areas.

Does ICLR require a virtual poster or a video?

ICLR 2027 upload rules are not out yet. In 2026, there was no live virtual poster session, and uploading a virtual poster and thumbnail to the ICLR portal (advised at least one week before the conference) was highly recommended, while the public Poster Guide did not specify fixed pixel or file-size limits. The 2026 Author Guide stated that in-person registered authors record a 5-minute summary video (listed as highly recommended on the Poster Guide).

Are the ICLR templates free?

Yes. Our PowerPoint poster templates are free to download and fully editable. The AI poster generator uses credits at 5 credits per standard 2K image; new accounts get 10 sign-up credits (valid for 1 day) plus 5 daily credits (valid for that day).
